Phil Feinman

Phil started his music career at 14 years old when he began working at Murphy’s Music on Long Island, NY. He traded his time at the store for equipment and began recording his friends in the basement of his house. He went on to work for Telefunken Elektroakustik while getting a degree in Audio Engineering Technology from the University of Hartford. He began as a tech and went on to become a designer behind some of the most sought-after microphones in the world. Phil landed in Los Angeles in 2009 where he started at EastWest Studios before becoming a co-owner of Bedrock.LA, the city’s largest rehearsal and recording complex that has been home to some of the best producers, mixers, and artists in Los Angeles over the past decade. In addition to mastering at Infrasonic, he now manages the microphone division of AKG, helping to develop new tools for the recording industry.

Phil has worked as a tech for a diverse group of artists including Band of Horses, Prophets of Rage, Guns N’ Roses, Local Natives, Ryan Adams, The Naked and Famous, Nipsey Hussle and Flying Lotus as well as being trusted by producers such as Butch Vig, Dave Aron, and Greg Kurstin. He’s now bringing his tuned ears and technical precision to the world of mastering with the team at Infrasonic Sound.
